She looked up, only to see an expanse of snow. He was nowhere to be seen.

Twenty Li outside Ye Tan City, a horse carriage was travelling at very high speeds along the main road. Travelling together with it were more than twenty people riding on fine horses. The person in the lead had a black cloak draped around his shoulders and a long sword at his waist, it was Nan Hai faction’s leader, Leng Sheng Yin.

The snow had only fallen for three or four days and the air was especially fresh after the weather cleared up. There was a thick feeling of the new year in the air and the breeze brought a chill with it. On the roadside was snow that had yet to fully thaw. The dark coloured mud and the white snow, together with the bare old trees and various coloured wild grass looked very bizarre and funny. One was almost unable to believe that this was that clean and flawless world from before. It was no longer beautiful, but it was very authentic.

Lei Lei didn’t want to feel too disappointed so she looked away.

That day, when they returned to Bi Shui City, Leng Sheng Yin and Wen Xiang had been panicking over their disappearance and had sent men to ask around. When they found out that Chuan Qi Valley had a hand in it, they were about to send a messenger pigeon to inform He Tai Ping and the rest when the two unexpectedly returned on their own. The second, was that Wen Ting really was the one who had killed Leng Ying. Shang Guan Qiu Yue had seen it with his own eyes.

Lei Lei looked at Wen Xiang and hesitated.

Wen Xiang was confused: “What’s wrong?”

Lei Lei shook her head and looked away: “It’s nothing, I just recalled something.”

Wen Xiang asked: “What did you recall?”

Lei Lei said calmly: “On a clean piece of land lived a herd of seals, then a group of people came and killed them.”

Wen Xiang didn’t speak.

Feng Cai Cai found this interesting: “What’s a seal?”

Lei Lei replied: “It’s a cute animal that lives in the sea and on ice.”

Feng Cai Cai asked: “What do they eat?”

Lei Lei replied: “Fish.”
